Albert Reid WW1 – Medals and pictures.

Caption

Albert Daniel Harkin Reid joined the “1st Battalion Wellington Infantry Regiment, as a lance corporal, on the 18th of August 1914, aged 27, registration #10/615. Home service was one year and 140 days. Active service was two years and 344 days, with a total service of 4 years and 119 days.

He went to Egypt, Gallipoli, Greece, Mudros, Lemnos, France and England. He was shot in the right leg on the 17/7/1916 while in France. Due to no longer being physical fit for war service on account of the wounds received in action Albert was discharged as Staff Sergeant on the 14/12/1918
